In 1611, Sir Thomas Dale led a group of 300 settlers up the James River from Jamestown and created a new settlement, known as Henricus, becoming the second successful English settlement in the New World. Today, Henricus Historic Park takes visitors on a journey back to that time and provides an educational perspective on early Virginia history.
