Our Legacy.

Founded by Joseph K. Stewart in 1977, Eastwood Homes is a privately held residential builder with consistent track record of industry success and financial health.

After graduating from Appalachian State University and serving in the U.S. Army, it was Joe's dream to build reasonably priced homes of superior quality, while maintaining a focus on conducting business with integrity. Unlike national builders, he was determined never to be driven by Wall Street profits, but instead by his desire to exceed the expectation of buyers by delighting them in every step of the building process.

45 years later, Joe, his son and business partner Clark Stewart, and the entire management team at Eastwood Homes work together to carry on this dream. With corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC, Eastwood Homes now serves communities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.

Our Growth

Eastwood Homes has experienced steady growth over its many years in the business. Expansions have been well-thought-out, stable, and calculated. Since the owner and founder is a Carolina native, his personal knowledge of the region has aided in the successful expansion of Eastwood Homes.

Each of the eight divisions of Eastwood Homes has a slightly different appeal, despite their relatively close proximity to the headquarters in Charlotte. Although you will find varying personalities across the regions, all divisions have the same mission – to build homes of exceptional value and outstanding craftsmanship while delivering unparalleled customer service. Activities in all divisions are still monitored by the founder himself, providing a true hometown appeal to all communities.

2025

Welcoming Napolitano Homes to the Eastwood family

We are completing a merger of culture and quality.

We are proud to announce the acquisition of Napolitano Homes, a Hampton Roads, Va., based builder with a strong reputation of building quality homes in the region.
This acquisition will position Eastwood Homes in the thriving Hampton Roads area, which is growing in population and is the eighth-largest metro area in the Southeast United States, and the second-largest between Atlanta and Washington, DC. Napolitano Homes has a strong foundation and culture that matches the Eastwood Homes philosophy of doing business. Napolitano Homes has been operating as a family-owned builder in the Hampton Roads, Va., area since 1977.

Now offering Build On Your Lot!

We are bringing our floorplans to your lot.

After hearing requests for many years to build our popular floorplans on an individual's own lot, instead of in a developed community, we have expanded our operations to allow for this flexible semi-custom homebuilding option. We now offer Build On Your Lot in the greater Charlotte and Raleigh areas in North Carolina and in the greater Charleston and Greenville areas of South Carolina.

2019

Building into Georgia

We are planting our footprint in the Peach State.

In 2019, we were pleased to announce our further growth into the greater Atlanta region in Georgia, becoming our eighth division and solidifying our presence as a builder in the Southeast. Our first community of Windsor Knoll in Dacula opened in July and will be followed by three more communities throughout 2019 and 2020.

Expanding further into South Carolina

We acquire Columbia-based Fortress Homes.

An industry-recognized leader in new home construction, Fortress Homes offers a broad range of products, move-in ready homes, and a state-of-the-art Design Studio (much like Eastwood). In 2018, Fortress Homes transitioned to the Eastwood Homes, Columbia SC division where Eastwood will continue its commitment to be a Builder of Integrity and ensure that each and every home is Built with Care.

2013

Making our way into Virginia

We are thrilled to be moving into the Richmond, VA, market.

It is with great excitement that we launched our first division in Virgina in the Richmond market. This division quickly became another one of our largest divisions to date.

2010

Raleigh becomes our new new market

We are launching the Eastwood way in Raleigh, NC.

Staying true to our values, we launched our next division in Raleigh, NC, the state capital and one of our largest divisions today.

2005

Dreaming of new homes in sunny Charleston

We are expanding again in Charleston, SC.

With a strong foundation built on quality craftsmanship and industry success, we have continued to grow and opened our fourth division in Charleston, SC.

2003

Next up: Moving into Greensboro, NC

We are opening our Triad division.

Shortly after launching our second division, we knew it was time to take Eastwood's operation north into the Triad market, building in the Greensboro and Winston-Salem markets.

2000

Our first new division

We are growing into Greenville, SC.

Twenty-three years after opening Eastwood Homes in Charlotte, we took the dream of new homes to Greenville, South Carolina, and marked our first expansion and our second division. Hiring began in 2000 and we opened our first community in 2001.
